Biographie

Lucinda Davis a trouvé son chemin dans la profession par un étrange coup du sort lorsqu’elle a été appelée par erreur à une audition pour un rôle principal dans une série télévisée et a obtenu le rôle ! Vingt ans plus tard, elle a amassé une liste impressionnante de crédits pour la scène, la télévision et le cinéma, et a, à maintes reprises, prêté sa voix aux jeux vidéo et à l’animation. Elle est une des cofondatrices du Metachroma Theatre, dont le mandat est de normaliser la présence d’artistes diversifiés sur les scènes canadiennes. Elle a été la fière récipiendaire du prix d’interprétation des Montreal English Theatre Awards, du Prix Rideau, des ACTRA Montreal Awards et a été nommée Femme de l’année par ACTRA Montréal en 2017. Sa liste de crédits au théâtre comprend : random (Imago et Black Theatre Workshop), Adventures of a Black Girl In Search Of God (Centre national des arts), How Black Mothers Say I Love You (Great Canadian Theatre Company), Doubt et Intimate Apparel (Centaur Theatre), Top Girls (Segal Centre for Performing Arts), Harlem Duet (Black Theatre Workshop) et Serving Elizabeth (Belfry Theatre).

 


 

Lucinda Davis found her way into the profession through a weird twist of fate, when she was called by mistake to audition for a leading role in a television series, and got the part. Twenty years later, she has amassed an impressive list of credits for stage, television and film and has lent her voice to video games and animation.  She co-founded Metachroma Theatre, whose mandate is to normalise the presence of diverse performers on Canadian stages. She has been the proud recipient of performance awards from the Montreal English Theatre Awards, the Prix Rideau Award, the ACTRA Montreal Awards for voice performance, and was ACTRA Montreal’s Woman of the Year in 2017.
